Microsoft Price Increases from 1st July 2012

Following our announcement in February on the proposed Microsoft Price Changes, Bytes can now confirm that the following Microsoft Prices Increases have been previewed and are due to take effect on 1st July 2012:

License Type Average Price Increase Enterprise Agreement / Enterprise Subscription Agreement (EAS) 18.7% Select Plus Agreement 17.7% Open Value Subscription (OVS) 25.9% Service Provider Licensing Agreement 25.9% Open Agreement (corporate) 1.7% Public Sector Agreements to be confirmed*
* Microsoft and the Cabinet Office have yet to make an announcement.

These are Europe-wide changes that Microsoft are making to its pricing policies for volume licensing programmes and are due to sustained currency differences in the EU/EFTA region between Euro and Non Euro currencies.

Indicative Pricing Examples (Typical Select Level A)

  • Windows Server: £468 increases to £551
  • Exchange Server: £452 increases to £532
  • Office Professional: £325 increases to £383

What Next?These changes will affect different organisations in different ways, depending on the current procurement route and timescales of any existing agreements.
