Engineering
Our engineering, construction & manufacturing customers include Mott MacDonald, Halcrow Group, Aggreko, Wates Group and Taylor Wimpey.
The construction and engineering markets have become extremely competitive in recent years with the number of projects reducing and profit margins being squeezed. Agility and flexibility are core requirements for their IT teams, who are regularly required to support new joint ventures and provide technology to short term offices around the globe, all within short notice and tight budgets.
The nature of my customers businesses often means that I work with a number of divisions who operate autonomously to the other parts. I liaise with both the central IT procurement team and multiple business units in order to understand the technology needs of the entire operation today and into the future. This allows me to recommend the most suitable software and licensing agreement for the whole organisation, utilising their collective buying power to drive the best deal, whilst at the same time allowing them to retain the ability to make divisional decisions.
At Bytes, we also utilise our Software Asset Management (SAM) practice to ensure that no matter how dispersed the organisations offices are, they still have full visibility of their software usage, remain compliant with the terms of their licensing agreements and are efficiently deploying the latest software patches and security updates.
The service I deliver is to take away the complexities of software licensing and ensure that my customers are receiving the best technology at the lowest cost possible. ![]()
