RAF Northolt sought to modernise their server and storage hardware to advance their estate. By remodelling their datacentre into a private cloud, time savings were achieved instantly, leading to considerable cost savings.
RAF Northolt’s server and storage hardware needed updating – a more flexible infrastructure was required for them to meet their business requirements. They met with Bytes to discuss their options in order to enhance their estate. Bytes identified their key business drivers to be reductions to cost and complexity, along with improvements to Backup and Disaster Recovery.
“Bytes’ expertise was indispensable throughout the phases of research and planning. They were proactive and quick to respond throughout the whole preparation and transition process. The solution delivered by Bytes has had an immediate impact on business outputs with many key stakeholders commenting on a significant increase in workload speeds.”
The Bytes Solution
Bytes proposed Nutanix and Veeam as the solution – delivering an on-premise enterprise cloud that natively converges compute, virtualisation and storage into a resilient, software-defined solution with rich machine intelligence. The solution offers technology transparency back to the business, transforming their datacentre into a private cloud and allowing the IT team to focus on delivering business applications and workloads.
RAF Northolt’s denser computing led to significant cost savings, along with an enhanced application and workload speed. Backup and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) was also improved. The lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model designed by Bytes offers more flexible IT, delivering high capacity in a low U footprint whilst offering seamless scalability and application protection.
