NHS Digital Windows 10 Microsoft Agreement

Tuesday 1st May 2018

We are delighted to announce that Bytes have been exclusively selected by NHS Digital to provide the NHS in England with licenses for Microsoft Windows 10 E5. These are to be supplied from the new agreement at no cost to local NHS organisations. NHS Digital will also be providing a centrally managed Advanced Threat Protection managed service.

The new NHS Microsoft Agreement for Windows 10 and its full range of security features, has been established following the 2017 WannaCry cyber attack which affected many NHS Trusts, forcing them to cancel appointments, operations and other care services to patients. It is also in response to the growing threat of cyber attacks that are continuing to make headline news.

Bytes will be intrinsic in the management of the Microsoft Windows 10 agreement, helping all NHS organisations access the Windows licenses and managing the license allocation process. Bytes are the ONLY Microsoft partner managing this process. We can also offer Windows 10 deployment services to the NHS, assisting Trusts in making the move to a highly secure Windows 10 environment. In addition, we have a number of complimentary solutions to further secure NHS IT infrastructures and will provide information on this in due course.

We will be conducting various webinars and events on the new agreement and how we can help with deployments, so please keep an eye out for these.

At present, we are setting up the process for license allocations. NHS Digital will be providing us with the Service Agreement shortly. This will need to be signed and returned to us in order to apply for licenses. For all license requests or questions about the NHS Agreement, please email us at [email protected].
