Cyber security and house music might not be the most obvious pairing. But bringing people together, creating energy and supporting a good cause? That’s something we can get behind.
Cyber House Party brings the UK cyber community together through music, connection and a shared mission to do some good, raising vital funds for UK charities along the way.
Where it all started
Cyber House Party (CHP) began six years ago with a simple idea from the founders, the cyber security industry could be more inclusive, more connected and a lot more fun. What started as a way to bring people together through house music has grown into a UK not-for-profit Community Interest Company, run entirely by volunteers.
Since then, CHP has delivered more than 20 events, including four years hosting the biggest after party at InfoSecurity Europe, Europe’s largest cyber security conference. Today it reaches a community of around 20,000 people across the industry, and has raised a huge amount of money for UK charities along the way.
This year, Cyber House Party is supporting The Cyber Helpline, a free 24/7 service for victims of cybercrime staffed by volunteer cyber professionals, and NSPCC Childline. But the impact goes beyond fundraising. Cyber House Party champions mental health and wellbeing in the industry, introduces people to new roles and new networks, and lives by one belief, we all need our crew to thrive in cyber security.
Luke Kiernan, Head of Cyber Security at Bytes, first discovered Cyber House Party after seeing the community taking over the Fox at InfoSec. A conversation with co-founder Marc Avery about the story behind it, the charities it supports, and its ambitions was enough to get Luke involved.
Cyber House Party releases a monthly mix from its volunteer DJs, and now it’s Luke’s turn behind the decks! Expect uplifting piano house, big bass drops, classic house, 90s throwbacks and a few current edits.
But there’s a bigger connection here too.
At Bytes, we believe strong cyber security is about people as much as technology. It’s about bringing the right expertise together, sharing knowledge and helping organisations build resilience into their cyber strategy from the outset.
Cyber House Party brings that same spirit of collaboration beyond the day job, bringing the industry together to raise money, support important causes and give something back.
So, headphones on. Speakers up. Cyber security has a new soundtrack.

“For me, it’s the perfect mix of bringing the cyber security community together, raising money and awareness for some brilliant causes, and doing something I love outside of work, DJing house music.”
Luke Kiernan, Head of Cyber Security & Enterprise Networking, Bytes.
