Microsoft have announced some important CSP updates. 

Perpetual software in the Cloud Solution Provider program

As Microsoft improve their commerce capabilities to provide customers and partners with a better buying experience, they are expanding the offer portfolio to include the availability of perpetual software licenses within the Cloud Solution Provider program (CSP). The addition of software licenses within CSP allows participating partners to focus on offering diverse solutions and managed services to their customers. Available generally in January 2021. New capabilities added to the Insights reports in Partner Center

New capabilities have been added to the Insights reports in Partner Center enabling reseller to carry out ad-hoc data analysis based on your business needs and see a holistic view of the training taken by employees in your organiaation. This augments the robust set of existing Insights reports. Learn more here.

Dynamics 365 Project Operations

On 1st October Microsoft will release Dynamics 365 Project Operations offers and remove Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation (PSA) for the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program. New customers must purchase Dynamics 365 Project Operations.

For existing Dynamics 365 customers with PSA:

  • Continue to use Dynamics 365 PSA until 1st October 2020, or until the end of their most recent contract or renewal, whichever occurs first.
  • Dynamics 365 PSA will auto-renew for one year until 1st October 2021 in CSP, allowing contracts to continue until 1st October 2022.
  • Dynamics 365 PSA licenses will automatically receive Project Operations as part of their current licenses by 31st December 2020.
  • At the end of Dynamics 365 PSA contracts, customers need to transition to Project Operations, which will have a zero user minimum PSA transition SKU.
