ABOUT THE ROLE:
Bytes are currently recruiting a Software QA Test Engineer to design testing procedures for our software applications. This role will involve working on the preparation and execution of the system tests of one or more release-based projects. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing the functionality of application and designing automated tests to validate their performance as well as manually testing the code releases in a number of environments.
The successful candidate will need excellent understanding of test techniques to verify outcomes against the expected results, and record results for use in audit trails, using quality processes and procedures. As a Software QA Test Engineer, you will need to have exposure to software programming, a keen eye for detail and excellent project management skills. Additionally, experience is required in designing and writing efficient test procedures for multiple software application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Functional, Integration and Regression Testing (Manual and Automated)
- Building test cases and advising and consulting with the wider team on improvement
- Identifying software application weaknesses and target areas
- Devising solutions for automated software testing procedures
- Reviewing software bug reports and highlighting problem areas to the development team
- Planning, developing, and executing software testing tasks for web application modules
- Using appropriate techniques to design test cases, test scripts and test data that will address identified test requirements and presenting them in an overall test design
- Providing estimates and prioritising all testing activities required to deliver projects
- Writing automation scripts and implementing automated tests
- Analyzing, documenting, and submitting issues discovered during testing
- Collaborating with the design team to solve application faults
ABOUT YOU :
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Commercial development testing

Previous experience working as a QA/Tester automation engineer

Familiarity with popular programming script languages

Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing and testing protocols

Co-work with development teams, project managers, solution designers, information security for successful resolution of bugs/issues

Experience in manual testing of business applications

Experience of Agile development project lifecycles

Experience and building and executing test cases and plans
Desired Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in computer science, software engineering or a similar field

QA Testing Certification at any level

SQL/Data interrogation techniques
