Behind the Scenes of the NHS Copilot Trial: Bytes Healthcare’s Role

In one of the most ambitious healthcare AI pilots to date, Microsoft 365 Copilot was deployed across approximately 90 NHS organisations, involving over 30,000 staff. The trial, which reported an average time saving of 43 minutes per worker per day, has sparked widespread interest across the public sector for its potential to reclaim up to 400,000 hours of staff time monthly.
The results were formally announced by the UK Government in this press release, and further explored in Microsoft’s feature article, which highlighted how Copilot is already transforming workflows across the NHS.
