Microsoft have announced here that from 1st July 2026 its Modern Workplace SKUs will receive an enhanced set of security controls; through the addition of Defender for 365 Plan 1 and InTune Remote Help to Microsoft 365 E3, and the addition of InTune Endpoint Privelege Management, Cloud PKI and Security Copilot to E5.

Alongside these new additions are some pricing updates, with an estimated increase to account for these new additions of:

  • ~ 5% on Microsoft 365 E3
  • ~ 10% on Microsoft 365 E3
  • ~ 25% on Microsoft 365 F3
  • ~ 13% on Office 365 E3

On top of August’s announcement around the levelling of Online Services pricing from 1st November 2025, many customers may now face budgetary challenges at the next renewal.

Stay tuned as Bytes will be hosting a webinar next week to see how this may impact your estate, including:

  • How Bytes can help you to make the most of the new technology available in these suites from 1st July
  • Budgeting for your next renewal and for the long-term
  • Tactics for longer-term pricing security and mid-contract mitigations
  • Ensuring the avoidance of duplicated licensing costs for new products being included in M365 E3 / M365 E5
