Microsoft 365 suites with Teams are back and now globally available from 1st November 2025 for all new customers.

What does this mean?

This reintroduction offers more choice and more flexibility. Read on to find out what’s changing:

From 1 November:

  • Microsoft 365 and Office 365 suites with Teams return — alongside the existing no Teams options.
  • Commerical updates:
    • Suites without Teams will be priced lower (both Enterprise and SMB)
    • Teams Enterprise standalone will increase by $3.30
    • Customers will now be provided with the ability to 'true down' in 3 year CSP agreements
  • Mix and match: Customers can now combine with and without Teams licences in the same tenant

Why now?
This change follows Microsoft’s agreement with the European Commission to address competition concerns. It’s part of a broader shift to support:

  • Interoperability: Continued access to open APIs and support for third-party add-ins across Microsoft 365 and Teams
  • Data portability: Customers can export Teams data and access APIs for Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Entra ID at no extra cost
  • Developer enablement: A new centralised resource hub is coming to help developers build and integrate more easily

How Bytes can help
We’re already modelling scenarios to help customers:

  • Reduce costs
  • Plan renewals
  • Build a more flexible collaboration roadmap

This change, coupled with the recently announced changes to Enterprise Agreements both going live on 1st of November means that customers face a tricky few months managing all the changes and renewals. Reach out to Bytes and work with us to build out all your options. Our team are on hand to help build a quick TCO document, an EA vs CSP side by side comparison or an optimisation or usage health check.

These changes add both flexibility and confusion. Reach out to Bytes to navigate you through your next renewal.
