Citrix and Microsoft – better together

Friday 17th July 2020

The world as we know it has changed, and it is now clear that every company will benefit from being able to be completely virtual. Remote working is now a permanent strategy and companies are now redefining what a normal work environment is going to look like. Citrix has joined forces with Microsoft to accelerate the future of work.

After decades of working together closely, this multi-year agreement builds upon one of the industry’s longest strategic partnerships. Citrix Workspace will become a preferred digital workspace platform for Microsoft customers, and Microsoft Azure will become a preferred public cloud for companies using Citrix solutions to enable people to work anywhere across devices.

Citrix and Microsoft will provide joint services and tools to speed the transition of on-premises Citrix virtual application and desktop customers to Microsoft Azure.
A roadmap of joint offerings will initially be comprised of Citrix Workspace, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365, sold through both the Azure Marketplace and a robust community of Microsoft and Citrix channel partners.

Microsoft will lead sales with Citrix Cloud to move existing on-premises Citrix customers to Azure.

This gives Citrix and Microsoft customers:

  • Enhanced capabilities. Citrix Workspace is authorised by Microsoft to enhance and extend WVD with desirable features that are not available in WVD native, allowing customers to leverage the multi-session Windows 10 capabilities available only in WVD while driving additional Azure consumption
  • Azure workloads. Combining Citrix Workspace with Azure is a great way to offer flexible, scalable, and secure digital workspaces while helping customers and partners meet their Microsoft Azure consumption commitments.
  • Simplified transaction process. Under this expanded partnership, customers can buy solutions from both Citrix and Microsoft in a single transaction, which significantly reduces customer time to value and accelerates their move to the cloud.

These joint offerings will begin to become available on 1st September 2020. Contact us by emailing [email protected] if you’d like to discuss your options or learn more.
