Microsoft cuts Azure price in UK

Microsoft has cut prices for a range of its UK Azure products after its cloud prices rose 22% at the start of this year. Prices for the F1 to F16 virtual machines have been cut by 23% on Linux VMs and 18% on Windows VMs, while A1 Basic has been reduced by 42% on Linux and 51% on Windows.

There have also been reductions in storage, with Hot Block Blob storage prices dropping 26% and Cool Block Blob storage down 38%.

All of the new prices are effective immediately, with the reductions differing across different regions.

Azure Virtual Machines:

We have reduced prices on Compute optimized instances – F Series, General purpose instances – A1 Basic by up to 24% and 61% respectively. The table below shows an example of the VM price reductions in UK South. Please refer to the VM pricing page for all the regions and details.

Azure Blob Storage

We have reduced prices on Azure Storage offerings - Hot Block Blob Storage, Cool Block Blob Storage by up to 31% and 38% respectively. These new prices are only available to customers using Azure Blob Storage Accounts. Customers who are on the General Purpose Blob Storage can take advantage of these prices by moving data from General Purpose Blob to Azure Blob Storage account using tools such as AZ copy.
